Dress for the weather, not the calendar
Seasonal dressing isn't really about the date. It's about temperature, light and what you'll be doing all day. A cold, wet May in Manchester and a warm October in Texas call for very different clothes. What stays the same is the logic: pick fabrics that suit the temperature, colours that suit the light, and layers you can add or take off.

The layering principle
The single most useful seasonal skill is layering: a thin base layer, a middle layer for warmth and an outer layer for weather. Storage tip
At the end of each season, clean your clothes before you put them away. Moths go for wool that has skin oils and food traces on it. Cedar blocks and breathable garment bags are cheap insurance for expensive knitwear and coats.
